It is actually very easy to use the pen tool. The shortcut form of it is the ‘P’ word. There are two different ways of using the pen tool. One is through shape layers and another one is path. Let’s try through shape layer first. You just need to click on the first point. You need to hold and drag the mouse to get the effect. Now, lets move on to the second method which is by using the path tool. When you select it, you will notice that no new layer that will be created. In order to manipulate the effect, you may need to have the path palate to see that there is a new path named ‘Work Path’ that you have created. You can use the tools named save path to save it, delete path to delete it, fill or stroke path for your own use. The good thing about this path is that if it is a JPEG file, this path will still remain in a JPEG file. If you imported into different computer, it will still be there. That is how, this pen tool is being used.
